Facebook opens up a new alternative for artists by allowing them to charge for live broadcasts.
The social network Facebook reported that it will include in the coming weeks the function of charging for live broadcasts. “To support creators and small businesses, we plan to add the ability to charge for access to live events,” they explained from the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg in a statement.
This new option opens a new world in the audiovisual and entertainment industry, mainly within the artistic environment, since musicians, comedians and actors will be able to sell their show online in a very simple way and directly to the consumer.
In the statement, Facebook did not provide further details on this new feature. The territorial scope of this alternative and whether or not the social network will charge users who use it are unknown.
